The Artificial Intelligence research group at Middlesex University embodies a vibrant community of scholars passionate about AI's transformative potential. Drawing from diverse backgrounds, our researchers collaboratively address a spectrum of AI challenges. Key areas of mastery within the group encompass Data Science, Natural Language Processing, and advanced decision-making methodologies. We are at the forefront of Medical analytics, innovating in AI-enhanced diagnosis and clinical decision-making. Additionally, our focus extends to the domains of Neuro symbolic AI and the increasingly crucial field of Explainable AI, ensuring transparency in our advancements.
Prof. David Windride and PhD Student Vijay Simha Reddy presented a demo of their AI generative search application for the Bernie Grant Archive. The demonstration showcased how AI can aid in efficiently exploring historical and cultural materials. Dr. Roman Belavkin visited Japan to deliver lectures and engage in collaborative research on quantum time operators and optimal transport theory with mathematician Asuka Takatsu.
In total, 4 post-doctoral early career researchers (12-month each) will be fully funded to research related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a visiting fellow from Taiwan. Applicants are expected to have completed their PhD recently or are to receive PhD soon. To promote Women in STEM initiative, female applicants have a priority.
